I was there to send off a family member on flight home at adjacent international airport. There are lots of restaurants in the casino area, and the places is clean and safe. Transport to/from airport was every 20 minutes like clockwork. This is not the first time I stayed there for same reason, and might not be the last...

Convenient Dining Nearby 🍴
There's a great restaurant called News Cafe just a short stroll away, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat. Close to Train Station 🚉. This place is super close to a train station, making it easy to get around and explore all the nearby attractions without any hassle.

The staff polite and attempted to meet requests received.
The first room i was allocated was cold and very unappealing, it also did not have internet facilities in it. The room was duly changed needless to say even though the room had an internet hookup it did not work and IT could not help. No room service available is also an issue for late arrivals or business people who wish to stay and work from their rooms.

proximity to airport
2 adutls and 2 kids of 2 &6 years. got a large room with 2 x single beds and 1 kingsize bed. paid some 1700/night. i shud have taken two rooms at mondior for 750/room. but this was my oversight. rooms at metcourt laurel was large, but lacked life. felt like hostel dormitory. got charged 100/hour for delayed check out for an hour. had cockroachs for company.

I was not impressed with my experience. I found the passage ways old and outdated, it was noisy. The breakfast was dry and served in an inconvient location (the conference room). My internet in my room was not working, which for me is a must and that should always be checked that internet in all the rooms are working. Not impressed with my experience.

I booked this hotel because it was close to the airport which I needed and also that transportation too and from the airport was supplied. I did leave all details as to what flight number and time I would be arriving in Johannesburg. The morning of departure I telephoned the suites to confirm my transport and no one knew of me or my transport but was told that transport would definately meet me at the airport. I arrived and half way to the hotel suites the driver told me that I had to pay R150.00 one way and the same on my return the next day. I told him that I thought this was the transport provided and he said it was not and that there was a proper bus shuttle that was free. I was very dissapointed.

The location nearby the Emperor's Palace is very convenient in terms of the various restaurants available, the casino and the movie theater. The breakfast buffet is excellent.
The air conditionning-heating unit was extremely noisy and there was a lot of noise coming from the passage throughout the night.

I recently stayed at a hotel near the airport and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. the value for money was excellent, especially considering the included breakfast. Secondly, the staff were attentive and friendly, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Lastly, the rooms were spacious and well-appointed, with high-definition TVs and walk-in showers, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The noise late at night outside the room was a minor inconvenience, but nothing major.

Its proximity to the Johannesburg Int airport and its free shuttle every 20 minutes was very convenient.
It is a very impersonal place, style over substance. Attachment to a casino and mega slot-machine venue ether suits your way of life or you end up loathing the whole experience.

The location is conveniently close to the restaurants at the Emperors Palace Casino complex. The breakfast service was above par compared to the rest of the hotel's services.
These comments are not complaints, merely an account of my experience. The throw on my bed was stained. The toilet ran all night long. The power in my room got cut in the middle of the night, resulting in none of my business tools (phone and laptop) getting charged. At 4pm I was awoken by a very loud noise coming from the hallway - I assume a cleaner with a floor polisher. This is when I discovered there was no power in my room and I struggled to get dressed to get help. The phone was not working while the power was off. The receptionist was friendly and a technician restored the power in my room 15 minutes later. I reported these issues to reception on check-out.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
